We receive requests for bone conduction headphones fairly often but have never found any that were appropriate for our work. The “shaker” that has to be strapped to a child’s head is just not something a small child should to have to cope with. Recently however, a new company AfterShokz, has developed a terrific pair of bone condution headphones that have all the qualities to optimize an EASe Listening Therapy program.

The AfterShokz bone conduction headphones are lightweight, inexpensive, designed for extreme physical activity and are very comfortable, in addition to having the high frequency, high fidelity response that make them useful for an EASe program.

AfterShokz headphones are excellent for therapist guided vestibular activities like the Vital Links Therapeutic Listening program because while the child receives an effective bone conducted stimulus, he or she can also easily hear their therapists instructions. They can also be used as combination bone conduction and over the ear headphones by simply moving the drivers closer to the ear canal.
